HOBBITON—Celebrations are underway in the Shire after news that “Third Breakfast” has been officially added to the Shire’s list of traditional meals.
"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." - Thorin Oakenshield to one Bilbo Baggins
The idea first came to Mr. Took shortly after arriving at the city of Minas Tirith, when, after an especially arduous journey and even more tiring interrogation by the lord of the city, he declared, “I could now eat three breakfasts on end!”
Hobbits' values make a merry world. But they may have borrowed the idea at Mr. Badger's house, if they ever woke up to breakfast there.
The Luncheon Guild, however, vociferously protested the move, saying that too much breakfast would, in effect, put them out of business.
