haha, thank you! I didn't have that line in the first draft but knew something was missing. Immediately when I made the connection I knew it was perfect and had to be included
I was thinking about extending it some more, but realized precisely what you observed: it was the perfect amount to feel complete and yet leave people wanting more. I think there's definitely potential for an extended scene though...maybe one day!
I feel like on the one hand, Jesus would have a stern word with Gandalf ("whoever says to his brother, 'fool of a Took' shall be in danger of the judgement"), on the other hand, "only the fool says in his heart 'how deep is this well?'"
haha, I love this! I was tempted to extend the scene and have some dialogue like this between Gandalf and Jesus, but refrained. I love what you came up with though
<Pippin said to him, βDoes this water come in pints?β>
LMAO! You win the Internet today. Great post.

Very well balanced post (meaning+humor). I wish there had been more, but even as I say that I realize there was just the right amount.
After all, βA great writer never writes for too long or quits writing too soon. A great writer stops writing precisely when they mean to...β

Here is to hoping!
