Girlfriend Not Reciting Galadriel’s Monologue Like Usual Worries Local Man
Babe, is everything ok? I couldn’t help but notice that we're halfway through Galadriel's opening monologue in The Fellowship of the Ring and you've barely recited any of the lines aloud from memory.
I know what will help you feel better: when we get to the part in The Two Towers where Aragorn kicks the Uruk-hai helmet, I’ll pretend like I’ve never watched the director’s commentary and let you tell me for the “first” time that Viggo actually broke his toes when he kicked the Uruk-hai helmet and they used that take in the final cut of the film.
Aw, you’re welcome. I love you too, Precious.

Monday, July 29th marked the 70th Anniversary of the publication of The Fellowship of the Ring! (In a serendipitous turn, I started my latest read-through of Fellowship on that very day before I even knew about the anniversary!) Happy birthday to a legendary tale that hasn't aged a day!
