Thank you for writing it and getting me to dust off my copy! It had been too long (maybe since college, when I bought that copy for a class). I'm tempted to make it a January tradition!

I discovered the Letters of Tolkien in a bookstore in Newport, Oregon. I found myself laughing out loud in the bookstore and left with the book. His humor is sometimes subtle in his books. Enjoyed see that side of him in the letters.

I love that story and that it was his voice and humor that convinced you you needed to leave with the book haha. Agreed, loving seeing a different side to him through his correspondences.
