Jackson also omitted The Taming of the Shire.
Aragorn sang other songs, not recorded in the Red Book.
After forty years with Tolkien, and thirty-six years with my wife, I am petulant enough to claim that Tom Bombadil & Goldberry would have won . . . if the elder songs had not faded from memories of Men.
